Email and nurturing. The channel you actually own.
Sequences that carry a lead from first click to customer, measured at every step. Email is the only audience an algorithm cannot take away from you.
Most lists are not dead, they are being talked at
A list that does not open is usually a list that has never been given a reason to. Broadcasting the same newsletter to everyone regardless of what they did, what they bought or how long ago they arrived teaches people that your email is safe to ignore.
Nurturing is the opposite: a small number of sequences triggered by what someone actually did, written to move them one specific step. Someone who downloaded a guide gets a different next message from someone who abandoned a quote request, because they are not in the same place.
It is also the channel with the least platform risk. Rented audiences change their rules; a list does not. Where the CRM does the heavy lifting we build that side too, see HubSpot development.
How we actually do it
In this order, every time.
- 01 · Segment by behaviour, not by import date
- What someone did, what they looked at and how long ago, so the next message can be about them rather than about you.
- 02 · Write the sequences that matter first
- Welcome, nurture and win-back before anything clever. Most of the available return sits in three or four sequences that run forever without further work.
- 03 · Wire it to the CRM properly
- Triggers, properties and hand-off to sales built so the automation reflects reality instead of drifting out of sync within a quarter.
- 04 · Measure to revenue, not to opens
- Open rate tells you about a subject line. We report which sequences produce pipeline, in the same dashboard as everything else.
What you get
Deliverables, not adjectives.
- A segmentation model based on behaviour, with the logic documented
- Core sequences written and built: welcome, nurture, win-back
- CRM automation wired to real triggers and properties, tested end to end
- Templates your team can send from without breaking the design
- Reporting that ties sequences to pipeline rather than to open rate
Questions, answered straight
No fluff, as promised.
Our open rates are fine. Is that not enough?
Open rate measures the subject line and little else, and Apple's privacy changes made it noisier still. The question worth asking is which sequence produced a conversation, which is what we report.
How many sequences do we actually need?
Fewer than you would expect. Welcome, nurture and win-back cover most of the available return and run indefinitely once built. Adding a dozen more usually adds maintenance rather than revenue.
Do you work with our existing platform?
Yes. HubSpot, Klaviyo, Mailchimp and the rest all do the job; the strategy and the CRM wiring decide the outcome, not the logo on the tool. If the CRM build is the bottleneck, see HubSpot development.
